LDF Interpolator

Timothy L. Coomer, Ph.D.

Happy New Year! This is the first blog of 2012 and it is short and sweet. This blog is to announce a new tool we have in our portal at www.SIGMAactuary.com/resources called the LDF Interpolator. While at first glance the title of this blog might suggest a science fiction movie or some new Star Trek episode, I refer you instead to a brief description written by SIGMA's Tony King (Tony is one of SIGMA's analysts and developed this tool):

The LDF Interpolator estimates monthly Loss Development Factors from a source of annual factors. This tool interpolates monthly factors between annual factors beginning from year 1 and up to year 15. Based upon the months from policy inception, these monthly factors may be applied to a mid-year loss run in order to estimate ultimate losses for a policy period.

Below are some screen shots from this tool:

If you have already registered for the portal, just log in and download the LDF Interpolator. If you have not yet registered for our portal, it is free and you can register at www.SIGMAactuary.com/register.

Look for many new resources and tools to be added in 2012. We look forward to serving our Powered by SIGMA community throughout the coming year.

Regards,
Tim Coomer
