Loss Development Analysis for Captives

Michelle Bradley, ACAS, MAAA, ARM, CERA, CCIS, Consulting Actuary and Enoch Starnes, ACI, Captive and Complex Risk Consultant

Recently, Captive International published an article by Enoch Starnes and Michelle Bradley addressing the implications of loss development factors and patterns for captives. Since SIGMA’s educational resources related to loss development factors, loss development triangles, and similar topics are consistently the most utilized in our RISK66 library, we were excited for the chance to extend this discussion and knowledge to our colleagues in the captive industry. While the article focuses primarily on issues related to captives, much of the content is also transferable to large deductible and self-insured programs. You can read the full article below:

SIGMA welcomes the opportunity for further discussion on actuarial topics as they relate to both the traditional and alternative insurance markets.  If you would like to discuss a specific subject with our actuaries, or have any questions regarding the article linked above, feel free to contact us at support@SIGMAactuary.com.
